(Pachodo.org) - The time for division is over. We must work towards unity as opposition political leaders to face the SPLM in the proposed "South Sudan National Consensus Charter for Peace and Democracy" to be hold in February 2026, in Kenya,

Of course, we must as oppositions expects less from this initiative than pursuing private agendas of the Region and regime, which includes aborting R-ARCSS, sidelining key signatory Dr. Riek Machar, and prolonging the regime's reign in Juba.

Thus, the proposed talks won't produce any National Consensus Charter for Peace and Democracy to address gaps in implementations of the 2018 Revitalized Peace Agreement (R-ARCSS), as it fails to tackle the root causes of the failures to the successful implement R-ARCSS, so that it can give opportunities for development of roadmaps for successfulness of R-ARCSS.

This initiative will indeed only succeed if it addresses R-ARCSS failures and the government demonstrates political will to resolve conflict. This includes releasing Dr. Riek Machar and political detainees as goodwill gestures to restore trust.

Just as the government has chosen dialogue, as means to resolve our national Problems through this initiative, then the oppositions must choose to work together to achieve victory.

South Sudan yearns for hope, which rests on our ability as revolutionaries (opposition) to stand together, swallow our pride, rise above personal ambitions, and form a strong unity front to achieve peace through either ways -(war or dialogue).
