Fellow Generals, Officers, and our Brave Soldiers,
(Pachodo.org) - We should acknowledge the history we are making by demonstrating professionalism, discipline, and unity, by standing firm and refusing to be confused, used, and manipulated by selfish politicians in the ongoing internal political leadership crisis we are facing as a Revolutionary Front (SPLM-IO), against traitors who placed their selfish interests above the will of the people and the revolutionary movement, including attempting to sell out the revolutionary leader, Dr. Riek Machar, who is in illegal detention.
Hence, I would like to urge the High Military Command to convene a Generals' Command Conference to reconcile the few officers who lost direction during the political leadership crisis, as well to strengthen our unity of command as a military, and to restructure the Army, and develop military strategies on how to end the suffering of the people under the brutal regime in Juba once and for all, militarily.
I also wish to urge the High Military Command that it is a matter of vital importance and urgency to seek strategic alliances with other armed fronts, because only through unity of purpose will we be able to bring about regime change and end the suffering of our people in the most urgent manner.
We should remind ourselves as a revolutionary army that we did not revolt to fight each other, nor to survive in the bushes like animals, but to fight and oust the regime.
Therefore, we must hold ourselves to the military principles and agenda of the revolutionary movement (SPLA-IO). Let the political leadership continue with their political roles, and we, the armed forces, should carry on with our military roles.
Finally, I would like to state without regret that there are officers holding positions of responsibility without knowing how to execute their roles and responsibilities, and those officers have become agents of burden, weakness, and failure in the attainment of our revolutionary army's agenda. Hence, restructuring at this critical moment is a matter of urgency and importance, so that the army will move forward to rescue the country.
I remain yours in the revolution,
*Maj. Gen. John Sunday Martin*
