
Wigang, who received at his office here today a team of the Zayed Charity Initiative, led by its Executive Director, Dr. Adel Al-Shimmary and representatives of UAE public and private sectors, also praised Deputy Prime Minister, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his great efforts in implementing humanitarian and medical programmes for the needy and the sick.
The Sudanese minister noted that Sheikh Hamdan's initiative of providing medical treatment for poor sick persons and reaching out to the needy reflects his deep care for the needy in various parts of the world. He said the Zayed Charity Initiative and its innovative programmes had presented on the world stage a unique mode of humanitarian works, adding that his country wholeheartedly hosted the mobile UAE Humanitarian Hospital for its advanced medical services.
He said his country was committed to providing all the necessary facilities for this initiative to achieve its targeted objectives, adding that the UAE's humanitarian services in Sudan reflect the strong bilateral ties between the two countries.
The minister was briefed extensively about the mobile UAE Humanitarian Hospital and its programmes in Southern Sudan, which will kick start in March this year.
