the task of literate intellectuals

They are interpreters of the world ;producers of ideas ,depositories of cultural values ,the creators of the world etc. .AS put by one of the authors that ’not all men of thought have been intellectuals: many have managed to avoid it.

The word intellectual is often applied to those who decided to come out of their laboratories or libraries into the political market place into the forum of public life. An intellectual should be political because he cannot escape from politics. It should be borne in mind that an intellectual should be opposed to the self-imposed leader who would like to leader the society into the depth of the sea .According to Max Weber ,intellectuals are seen from this point of view as a group of men who by virtue of their peculiar have special access to certain achievements considered to be culture values and who ,therefore,, ,usurp the leadership of a culture community. Intellectuals are distinguished as an elite group that lays claim to leadership ,from all the other consumers and popularizes of culture values who ,though they participate in a given cultural community, cannot claim to play any serious role in it. A Person is an intellectual regardless of whether or not he enters the political market place. The quality of being an intellectual is ascribed to a person because of what he does as a writer, philosopher ,scholar or artist. Our main task is to preserve, communicate ,and impose the truth which is in keeping with ,and to which they have privileged access. In the modern world human beings are forced to take responsibility for positive measures to preserve the environment as one in which they can live.
