H.E. Minister of Education of Upper Nile State Dr. Muchikwan who I respect very much for his quietness mature handling of issues in many meetings we converged on several occasions. I am bagging to differ with his response on Eshrooq TV on Tuesday 13th April, regarding the polls rigging mission he was a part of in BOL.
H.E. was responding to the press conference by the chairman of SPLM-DC on the wide spread systematic rigging campaign by his party all over the south. We always blame SPLM party for leaving out the qualified cadres who could deliver, like H.E. the minister of Education had not been nominated by his party to contest at any level simply because of a law tailored to block some members. Thelaw prohibited those joined SPLM less than five years to contest at all and less than 10 years to bar out Dr. Machar from contesting for the presidency of the GOSS.
The points of contention with his Excellency are “ I am a minister and can make supervision”. On the opposite as an executive he should have not come close to a polling center except when voting, thus the right of supervision which he claims while he is not a candidate is fake, and a rationalization of fraud intend. For the reason to go as a voter, if he registered at his home in AGWORO and not in Malakal, he could have arrive at his village of Agworo without going to BOL. His presence with the commissioner Paul Arop at BOL could have never been by chance, but a well coordinated diabolic mission for vote rigging, nothing could have scared him from doing so as rigging is occurring with impunity in favor of SPLM, because that’s the only rout which will make him come back to power, as Upper Nile state had vowed not to mandate the SPLM because of the atrocities the party members inflict on the citizens. But as an executive he should if at all believes in democratic process and transformation dissuaded the commissioner from snatching the ballot boxes, an act experienced only with SPLM authority in south Sudan in the whole world. This is a shame on the party and its cadres.
Even if the SPLM rig all the votes in the south because of the military might, they will be ruling by iron fist and will do even worst than the last five years which were marked with tribal leadership, corruption, lack of program, inconsistency, internal political wrangling, land grabbing. The worst shall be at the referendum because of fear under SPLM leadership, southerners shall opt for an obliged and not attractive unity, as a means to escape Dinka domination and SPLA atrocities.
I would like to ask H.E. a pertinent question about education delivered to the people of upper Nile during his tenure when some schools inside Malakal are plastered with mud without windows in strategic places like the primary school near Upper Nile University just a short distance from Malakia market. Why would people in Upper Nile pose for rigging elections for SPLM? For those who hope that SPLM is going to pull up and do some thing is a fallacy. On the contrary it is decaying , because of lack of program and army that is torturing are in no better position as most are not receiving their salaries. It had been hoped that the SPLM should be transformed into a civilized political organization and respect the democratic transformation by accepting democracy but ALLAS!!!! The party is no where near democracy. It evident that the party is scrabbling in the north as well as in the south. Should the SPLM win in the south by rigging of course the southern masses will have been led down.
