The SPLA Military Intelligence (MI) arrested three members of SPLM-DC yesterday in Juba

The security organ of the Government of Southern Sudan continues arresting the members of political parties in South Sudan, this is  a clear violation of human rights being individual of groups like political parties.

After the accident of Yei town last Month where UDF party under the leadership of H.E Peter Abdul Rahman Sule was obstructed of conducting a political rally in Yei and Lanya, H.E Peter Sule seriously challenged the SPLM as a result of this, the SPLM chairman called for a meeting to all political parties in South Sudan.

The out come of the meeting was that, the SPLM has no any act against the political violation which is occurring to parties and individual, but is working for the free of expression and justice which it fought for in the last 21 yrs. Explained by the SPLM Secretary general Pagun Amum and H.E Poul Mayom the Minister of Information and spoke man of the Government of Southern Sudan (GOSS) that, what happen is from wrong individual act within the security organs that will not happen any more.

Yesterday on 18^th Feb, 2010 one member (Amajad Angello from Eastern Equaotria ) of the SPLM-DC coming from Khartoum bringing election campaign items like Poster and T-Shirts for the party, he was arrested in Juba Airport by MI of the SPLA because of having the posters and T-Shirts of the SPLM-DC.

Upon having the news two members of party ( Penyjowak Akol and Denis Ayowak both from Upper Nile) went to follow up the case, they were also arrested by MI of the SPLA and accused them of having a small Pistol (Six Ballets) which personal legal gun, upto now 12:40 pm 19^th Feb, 2010 they are still under arrest.

So this is strong violation of the human and political right by SPLM through underground orders to the security organs of the Government of Southern Sudan (GOSS).

This is an appeal to international community to watch out with care what the SPLM is doing in Southern Sudan.
