Dear fellow South Sudanese citizens, Merry Christmas.
I send my warm Christmas greetings to our President, His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit, all Vice Presidents and all people of South Sudan.
“’Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel’ (which means, God with us)” (Matthew 1:23). Christmas is the birthday celebration of this child.
This new born baby Jesus brings peace, hope and joy to the world. In all the harsh economic challenges, the flood, the Covid-19 pandemic, and continued violence in some parts of the country, let’s continue to be strong in prayers to minimise evil from flourishing in our beloved country South Sudan.
The Lord Jesus came to us on Christmas Day in Bethlehem as a baby symbolic of peace of God with us. God the Son, who is equal with God the Father, emptied Himself to come to earth as Saviour of the world to save His people from their sins. Let us all celebrate His coming with great joy, peace and with love towards one another.
My prayers for a blessed Christmas celebration to all our faithful in the Episcopal Church of South Sudan, the Roman Catholic, the Presbyterian, the Pentecostal and all other Christian denominations in South Sudan.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!
