Revolution Starts With Your Voice

(Pachodo.org) - Revolution begins the moment we stop being afraid and choose to speak up for truth, for honesty, for each other, and against every lie, every false promise, every injustice, every act of corruption, and every form of bad leadership holding us back.

History shows us that: wherever people have raised their voices and taken action against corrupt and oppressive systems, those in power grew nervous, and nations changed. That is how freedom was won. That is how good governance and good leadership were born. And that is how we will as South Sudanese win our future too, if we refuse to stay silent.

Today as South Sudanese, we must ask ourselves: Why should we stay quiet when the majority of our population, including our graduates, cannot find jobs? Why should civil servants remain underpaid and wait for more than a year for salaries that never come? Why should we remain silent when the peace deal (R-ARCSS) that was once our hope is violated again and again by the regime? When corruption has taken root in every government office? Why should we remain silence when tribalism is tearing us apart? When poverty is devouring us, and our political leaders act as if we don’t exist?

Silence is not act of obedience to the national cause, Silence is surrendering of our rights and dignity to those in power and allowing them to abuse us in every aspect of life.

Silence is a betrayal of our families, our communities, and our country. It is a betrayal of our own dreams and future. It is a betrayal of the God who made us equal and called us to care for His creation.

As South Sudanese, We did not win our independence by keeping quiet. We fought. We voted. We spoke with one voice in the referendum. That same power still lives in us. That same courage can bring regime change and win us the peace and future we deserve.

Whether you support SPLM-IG, SPLM-IO, NAS, SSOA, or no party at all. Whether you are in Juba, Wau, Malakal, Bentiu, a village, or abroad. Whether you are a soldier, politician, farmer, student, boda rider, hustler, or graduate. Whether you are a woman or a man, it does not matter. This country needs you to join the revolution with your voice and your deeds.

We must come together to fight corruption and tribalism. We must stand against leaders who refuse to implement the R-ARCSS and waste our future. We must fight for total regime change. We must fight for peace, justice, unity, democracy, and development.

We should remember that, during Anyanya, and later with the SPLM/A, when we spoke and acted, the dictatorial regime in Khartoum was shaken. It gave us self-rule in 1972, and independence in 2011.

If today we choose to change our situation, we can. We are the only one who can change our situations, give ourselves the peace and prosperity we envision.

When we all become revolutionaries, no regime, no system and even a power can threaten revolution as It becomes a movement — citizens demanding better policies, better leadership, and the free, united, peaceful South Sudan our martyrs died for.

Let's stand firm, and never fear to speak. There is power in a word. God created Universe only by word and through word, we can change what seems unchangeable, to break down the strongest powers, to give life to the lifeless, and hope to the hopeless. Let's speak for change now!
