The prosecution of SPLM-IO leaders who returned to Juba under the auspices of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS) starkly illustrates President Salva Kiir's unwillingness to engage in genuine political dialogue with opposition fronts.
This development should serve as a wake-up call to all legitimate political opposition leaders and groups that: "the peace and stability we are searching for, cannot be achieved through peaceful dialogue with Kiir's leadership". forceful means as of now, is the only viable option.
Hence, we must throw into dustbin the notions of dialogue with the leadership of Kirr, as this is a waste of time, and resources, which won't save and serve the aspirations of disadvantage South Sudanese, than prolongition of Kirr's reign.
As opposition fronts, if our goal is to truly serve and save this nation, then, we must unite despite our differences and self-interests. We must unite to fight this regime, because only through unite of purpose, we can dethrone this regime, and work towards a better future for South Sudan.
For SPLM-IO, the prosecution of organizaton's leaders signifies the demise of R-ARCSS. There's no basis for believing that peace is holding, and we shouldn't entertain the dreams for further peace talks with Kiir's government, as peace cannot be achieved under his leadership."
