Poaching is rampant in South Sudan and in essence robbing the country of its tourism potential.
Dr. Anour Ahmed Mohamed is accused of being behind the illegal poaching and export of our wildlife.
The authorities in South Sudan are not aware of the actions of Dr. Anour Ahmed Mohamed, who has been a permanent representative of the Russian Group of companies, “Safinat” in South Sudan, a heavy crude oil company operating in the country.
Dr. Anour Ahmed Mohamed himself is said to be holding many passports and citizenship including Sudan, Chad, Russia and South Sudan as well.
He claims to be an ambassador of Russia to South Sudan and yet there is no embassy of his claim that exists here in Juba. There is only one Embassy of Russia to the Republic of Uganda-Kampala which liaises with South Sudan.
DR. Anour Ahmed Mohamed disguises his actions under the company operating in South Sudan and while traveling to the oil fields indulges in illegal poaching.
He kills the animals for his own interest and exports some of them to Russia illegally without the knowledge of the government of South Sudan.
This illegal poaching has been going on for more than nine years now, since 2012 when he was brought to South Sudan to work at SNP.
Dr. Anour Ahmed Mohamed also is a former deported criminal charged with similar poaching from Khartoum-Sudan during President Omar Hussein Al Bashir's regime.
And again the Russian government delegated him to be the one representing the Heavy Crude oil company operating in the Republic of South Sudan as the President.
His return to South Sudan in the first place is a big mistake and a threat to the country’s security.
Actions against Dr. Anour Ahmed Mohamed must be undertaken in order to save the resources of South Sudan.
To worsen matters, he connived with groups working against the country, the opposition groups who are also against the progress of the government and legacy of this country.
South Sudan has lost heroes and heroines in the quest for independence and in line with that, the riches, natural resources and cultural diversity must be respected.
I can't comprehend how this type of human being exists with all the documents of over three countries.
I appeal to the higher authority of South Sudan to bring this self proclaimed citizen of multiple countries for proper investigation before he responds to the accusation of illegal poaching of wildlife in the Republic of South Sudan.
I therefore call upon the national government led by H.E Dr. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit to intervene in this burning matter and I urge our citizens or security apparatus to take this issue seriously and end the mischievous behavior against the wildlife of South Sudan.
This country is governed by laws, led by law abiding leaders and what seems to be a threat to our country like this must be dealt with accordingly without delay.
It's my duty as a concerned citizen to watch over our land and its belonging against external forces which can cause harm to our country.
This wickedness shouldn't repeat itself in such a manner for it undermines the sovereignty of this nation of South Sudan as a country and Dr. Anour Ahmed must be brought to the court of law for the crime against illegal poaching, and exploitation of South Sudan’s resources.
Secondly also, he must clarify to the nation very well why he has several passports at hand including the one for South Sudan.
I appreciate all those who took their time to read this article.
