NAIROBI (Reuters) - South Sudan's oil production stands at 165,000 barrels per day (bpd), down by a third compared with December before fighting erupted, the oil minister said on Saturday.
"The output is 165,000 barrels per day. This is compared to 245,000 barrels per day in December 2013," Petroleum Minister Stephen Dhieu Dau told Reuters by telephone.
Dau said all the oil was being pumped from Paloch - the site of an oil complex and crude oil processing facility in the north of the country near the border with Sudan, which hosts the sole pipeline export route.
In March, South Sudan's oil production was 160,000 bpd.
