Sudan to use British colonial maps in border dispute with South Sudan - The Voice of Russia

For more than half a century starting from 1899, Sudan was under the Anglo-Egyptian rule until it proclaimed independence in 1956.

Two years ago, South Sudan with the capital Juba seceded from Khartoum, but months later, a border dispute between the two Sudanese states put them on the brink of war.

The international community intervened to help the sides solve their differences through political dialogue.
