Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced that tons of sugar destined for South Sudan will be sold through a public auction, running from February 9 to 13, 2026, via KRA’s official online portal.

In a notice dated Saturday, January 3, 2026, KRA stated that any sugar not entered and removed from the custody of the Customs Warehouse Keeper at the Inland Container Depot in Nairobi within 30 days will be treated as abandoned and disposed of, including through a public auction.

“PURSUANT to the provisions of section 42 of the East African Community Customs Management Act 2004 as amended (EACCMA 2004), notice is given that unless the under-mentioned goods are entered and removed from the custody of the Customs Warehouse Keeper, Inland Container Depot Nairobi within thirty (30) days of this notice, they will be treated as abandoned and will be disposed of in accordance with the provisions of EACCMA 2004 including being sold by public auction on 9th February, 2026, 10th February, 2026, 11th February, 2026, 12th February, 2025 and 13th February, 2025 via an online portal, https://ibid.kra.go.ke,” read part of the statement.

However, interested buyers may view the goods at specified locations on February 6 and 7, 2026, during office hours.

The list outlines the quantities, consignors, and other essential details to guide prospective buyers in making informed decisions.

Other Goods Destined for South Sudan to Be Auctioned


Additionally, other goods scheduled for auction include assorted household items, industrial equipment, and commercial supplies held at various depots.

Other items include used clothing, car batteries, biscuits, tomato paste, polypropylene ropes, and solar inverters, jaw crushers, solar panels, packaged foodstuffs, electrical accessories, and assorted spare parts.

Also slated for auction are warehouse stock items such as tools, machinery components, and general cargo that have remained unclaimed beyond the allowed period.

The list continues with various consumer goods and industrial materials, all of which will be offered through KRA’s online auction portal during the scheduled dates.
