South Sudan Protracted conflict and climate change resulted in record challenges to education in 2023, including school closures, school occupation by displaced people and increased number of out-of-school children (estimated at 2.8 million). The Sudan crisis also affected the education sector by raising an Education in Emergency activities need such establishment of additional temporary learning space and psychosocial support for affected children and teachers. As of November 30, 2023, 47 program owner organizations and their implementing partners targeted to 866 people . Of which reached 377 thousand children, with 47% being girls, and provided support to 9.4 thousand adults through various EiE activities. These initiatives spanned across 71 counties out of a total of 76 counties across 10 states and 3 administrative areas .
