Aiming to provide a travel experience beyond expectations, Turkish Airlines is strengthening its internet service provided inside their aircrafts.
Providing onboard internet service since 2011, Turkish Airlines will extend the service – which used to be activated only when the aircraft was above 10,000 feet – to be uninterrupted, one that starts right as the aircraft doors are closed and until the doors are opened at the destination – making it a Gate to Gate internet service.
Speaking on the new technology, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, Professor Dr Ahmet Bolat stated that they are happy to extend their internet coverage area, providing the greatest coverage of international connections.
We will continue to work on new technologies in order to provide the best of virtual world just like we do with the real one.
The Turkish Airlines Gate to Gate service is available in 131 aircraft – 74 narrow-body and 57 wide-body – from May. The airline will extend the service to other aircraft in stages over time.
Turkish Airlines adds flight service to Juba, South Sudan
Turkish Airlines has also added to its flight network as it opens flights to Juba, the capital of South Sudan, starting this week. Connecting Africa to more destinations than any other in the world, Turkish Airlines has increased the number of destinations on the African Continent to 62.
The flag carrier brand will be operating Juba flights three days a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays – with Boeing B737-8 aircraft.
Speaking during the inauguration of the route, Turkish Airlines General Manager Bilal Ekşi said they believe that the importance of Africa to world trade and tourism will be increasing in the medium and long term thanks to the development of industrial investments.
Turkish Airlines has increased the number of destination countries to 129, and overall destinations to 338 with the opening of their flights to Juba.
In addition to air passenger transportation, Turkish Airlines also acts as an important bridge to develop international commercial ties with cargo transportation through its wide flight network.
