The speaker of parliament Anita Annet Among has today Monday welcomed her counterpart from the national assembly of South Sudan, Jemma Nunu Kemba, who is on a benchmarking trip to Uganda.
Kemba will also attend the state of the nation address by President Yoweri Museveni scheduled for tomorrow at Kololo ceremonial grounds.
Museveni is expected to address Ugandans on the prevailing high commodity prices on essential commodities and fuel, the controversial coffee deal by Italian investor Enrica Pinetti, the high carnage on Ugandan roads, imploding corruption, insecurity in Karamoja among other issues.
Kemba arrived at parliament and was taken on a guided tour of the chambers and other monumental artefacts at the premises by Among before retreating for a meeting.
Kemba who is the first woman to preside over South Sudan's parliament commended the way Uganda’s Parliament conducts its business under the stewardship of Among.
