Khartoum, June 7 (SUNA) -The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, has affirmed the Strong and deeply-rooted relations between the Sudan and the Republic of South Sudan.

This came when Al-Burhan received at his office here today the Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan, James Wani Igga.

During the meeting, Al-Burhan was briefed on the progress made in the revitalized South Sudan Peace Agreement, the challenges it faces and ways to address them.

The Vice President of South Sudan said in a press statement that the meeting dealt with the implementation of Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan.

During the meeting, he said, he heard a detailed briefing by Al-Burhan on the steps taken by the transitional government in implementation of Juba Agreement on Peace in Sudan.

Igga pointed out that the joint ministerial committee between the two countries will continue its work to overcome obstacles to the implementation of the Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan, noting that the meeting, which he described as positive and important in strengthening bilateral relations between Khartoum and Juba, touched on the issue of scholarships for students of South Sudan in Khartoum.
