UGANDAN | DRIVERS | DEATH
KOBOKO - Koboko Municipality Mayor, Wilson Sanya has appealed to the government of Uganda to compensate the families of the four taxi drivers killed in cold blood in South Sudan recently.
Stephen Amati, Gadaffi Dada, Ali Sonni Noah, and Sadam Andama were killed by suspected South Sudanese rebels along Yei-Juba highway at a place called Ganji in Lainya County about three weeks ago.
A number of Ugandan and Kenyan truck drivers were also killed while transporting goods to South Sudan’s capital Juba.
However, Sanya notes that during a security meeting at Elegu border, a list of truck drivers who were killed in South Sudan was generated for compensation which excluded the four taxi drivers from Koboko.
Sanya promised to submit relevant documents of vehicles destroyed and details of the deceased to Amuru Resident District Commissioner who is coordinating the compensation program.
