Uganda coach to tinker with squad against South Sudan

Uganda will have both physical and psychological advantage over their opponents having rested a day more

Uganda head coach, Moses Basena is expected to make ‘one or two’ changes in his second match against South Sudan on Friday if Cranes are to keep alive hopes of defending their Cecafa Senior Challenge title.

The reigning champions will step to the pitch in search of a first win after they were held to a scoreless draw by lowly ranked Burundi in the opener on Monday.

But with Ethiopia having taken a commanding lead in the Group B, Basena will have no option but to reap maximum points against South Sudan if they are to stand a chance of defending their title.

“I expected more from the players but the result was not convincing enough. We have another chance against South Sudan and they know they have to do better in that match,” said Basena who is expected to make the changes in the blunt attacking front.

South Sudan are going into the match with a dented ego having lost their opener 3-0 in the hands of group B leaders, Ethiopia.

Ethiopia will play Burundi in the second match on Thursday as Tanzania squares it out with Zanzibar as Rwanda takes on Libya in group B.
