Elections Won't Warrant The Changes We Demand

Across South Sudan, the suffering is palpable—people are tired, grappling with poverty, and caught in conflicts fuelled by political struggles for power by elites.

Today, ordinary South Sudanese are becoming poorer and poorer while the political elites becoming extremely richer, and more arrogant, with no apathy towards well-being of ordinary citizens. People are exhausted, and craving for changes in Governance and leadership for the transformations of their lives. However, political changes in demand, could not manifest, as it won't come free without a cost, because the political elites have wielded powers that, they turned to misuse to protect themselves against the will of the people.

In such a situation, We should not think we can get changes we demand freely, through democratic systems because even in the most advanced democratic Countries, people have witnessed events where political elites in power misusing power to sustain themselves against people's will.

This means, the democracy that we are yearning for, will never warranty the changes we envision. Election that we believe as system of democracy that will give us power to choose our political leaders, has again proven to have no warranty for the changes of the kind of political leadership and systems people may envisage, - because those in power can still misuse their power to manipulate election in their favour as this has become well-known tessellate, in East African Region.

South Sudanese are really tired, and suffering. It is inhumane to continue seeing people suffering with the hope that, one day, an election will come and people will get a chance to bring changes they needed through ballots. As military General, I would argue for decisive military interventions, to apply forceful means to bring desired political leadership changes to secure peace, and security for the people.

People are exhausted, and suffering from conditions they are pushed into, by this regime that has become more arrogant, and unwilling to implement R-ARCSS, which is a beacon of hope.

Now, the regime is pushing for elections that won't warrant changes people may demand through ballots because they know election remains the only hope that they have to prolong their illegitimate reigns. Hence, it is delusional to wait for election while watching people suffering, Rest assure that, the elections they are pushing for, won't warrant changes people may demand. But we can, through application of forceful means.

Time for all South Sudanese patriots to say enough is enough; and take up arms and fight, to topple this regime so that, people can have peace. For we deserve the right to take arms to fight for change of this regime, and the leadership.
