JUBA, June 17 -- The 12th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), in accordance with the mandate of the UNMISS and orders from the UNMISS Sector South, recently completed an armed patrol mission in the Mongalla region together with UN staff.
The patrol covered a total distance of 156 kilometers. During the patrol, the peacekeepers also conducted combat-oriented training on subjects such as security guard and emergency response despite the scorching weather.
This mission comprehensively tested and enhanced the Chinese peacekeeping troops' capabilities in emergency response and coordinated operations in complex and unfamiliar environments.
