[VOVWORLD] - Vietnam’s peacekeeping forces at the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) have held a cultural exchange program titled “Decorating the Conical Hat,” part of activities marking the 51st anniversary of national reunification (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1).

The event brought together female military personnel from several countries, including Mongolia, Ghana and Pakistan. The Vietnamese peacekeepers showcased elements of their national culture while creating a space for multicultural exchange, strengthening solidarity, and highlighting the role of women in peacekeeping operations.
The Vietnamese forces also carried out mass mobilization and charitable activities at the Bentiu Protection of Civilians (POC) site, where they made tables, chairs, and sleeping mats, and donated other essential items to local residents.
During the exchange, the Vietnamese peacekeepers shared the historical significance of April 30 with international colleagues and local people, describing it as a key milestone in the country’s struggle for independence, reunification and development.
