Musanze FC have confirmed the departure of star striker Shabani Hussein Tshabalala, who is set to join Sudanese side El Merriekh Bentiu on a one-year deal.
The Ubworoherane Stadium-based club reached an agreement with El Merriekh Bentiu for the transfer of the experienced Burundian forward, who had joined Musanze FC in July 2025 on a one-year contract.
Since his arrival, Tshabalala made an immediate impact, scoring nine goals and providing three assists across competitions. His standout performance came on Sunday, January 10, when he netted a brace in Musanze FC’s 3–0 victory over Marines FC.
His contributions have played a key role in Musanze FC’s strong league campaign, with the club currently sitting seventh on the Rwanda Premier League table with 25 points.
Musanze FC officially bid farewell to the striker following the match against Marines FC, marking the end of a short but productive spell at the club.
Nicknamed “Tshabalala,” the veteran attacker has enjoyed a well-travelled career across the CECAFA region. He has previously featured for Flambeau de l’Est and Vital’O in Burundi, as well as Amagaju FC, Rayon Sports, Bugesera FC, and AS Kigali in Rwanda. He has also played abroad for Baroka FC in South Africa and Ethiopian Coffee in Ethiopia.
