MTN South Sudan officially introduced eSIM technology to the market on January 10, 2025, during a visit to the National Communications Authority (NCA). The initiative was marked by a joint press conference featuring MTN South Sudan CEO Monzer A. and NCA Director General Napoleon Adok Gai.
Monzer A. described the launch as a milestone in South Sudan’s telecommunications journey, emphasizing the convenience and innovation eSIM technology brings to customers. Director General Adok praised the initiative for enhancing security and convenience, urging MTN to prioritize customer education and support while advocating for increased availability of eSIM-enabled devices to ensure inclusivity.
MTN South Sudan’s eSIM launch cements its position as a market leader, becoming the first operator to bring the technology to the country.
