(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) The Institute of Diplomatic Studies has hosted a two-week training course in capacity-building and development of diplomatic skills for a group of diplomats from South Sudan.
The course was organized in cooperation with the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, in which 40 diplomats from the Presidency of the Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of South Sudan participated.
The course was held in the context of the long-standing relations of brotherhood between Egypt and the Republic of South Sudan and Egypt's commitment to supporting the Government of South Sudan in its efforts to build the capacity of its diplomatic staff and state institutions concerned with foreign relations.
The course also dealt with a number of issues related to political, security and economic developments on the international arena, at the multilateral level and in the Arab and African regions.
It also dealt with issues related to the development of diplomatic skills and capabilities in the areas of negotiation, drafting, crisis management, media handling, ceremonies, and organization of conferences, human rights and international law.
The Institute held a closing ceremony at the end of the session to honor the participating diplomats from the South Sudan, in the presence of Ambassador Ashraf Ibrahim, Secretary-General of the Egyptian Agency for Development Partnership, Ambassador Hussam Issa, Assistant Foreign Minister and Director of the Sudan and South Sudan Administration, Ambassador Walid Haggag, Director of the Institute of Diplomatic Studies, as well as the Charge d'Affaires of the South Sudan Embassy in Cairo.
