Ukraine has found itself sharing the 130th place with South Sudan in the Press Freedom in 2011 survey conducted by the U.S.-based Freedom House NGO.

"Ukraine's score fell from 56 to 59 points as a result of growing government control over the media," reads the survey published by Freedom House on May 1.

In this rating, Ukraine is at the tail of a group of 72 countries rated partly free it terms of press freedom.

Of the 197 countries and territories assessed during 2011, a total of 66 (33.5%) were rated Free, 72 (36.5%) were rated Partly Free, and 59 (30%) were rated Not Free.

The leaders in terms of the freedom of speech are Finland, Norway, Sweden and Belgium.
