A seven-member high level delegation of South Sudanese government, led by their Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Deng Dau Deng Malek paid visit to different renowned industries around Dhaka on Thursday.
The delegation also included General Chol Thon Balok, Deputy Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs of South Sudan and comprised other high dignitaries.
The delegation visited Pran-RFL Industrial Park at Palash in Narsingdi on Thursday noon.Director General (Africa), Tarikul Islam of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Brigadier General Md. Shamim Kamal, Chief Instructor of Armed Forces War Course of National Defence College, Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur and UNO, Palash were also present during the visit.
Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, Chairman and CEO of Pran-RFL, Managing Director and other Directors received the delegation.
They made a power point presentation about the various activities of Pran-RFL group.
The delegation were show round various production units of Pran- RFL group.
The South Sudanese side showed interest in importing products from the Pran-RFL group.
They commended the modern methods which are used by the Pran group for production of food and other items.The Pran goup officials showed interest in exporting Pran-RFL goods to South Sudan.
Md Tarikul Islam, director general (Africa) of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Brigadier General Md Shamim Kamal, chief instructor of Armed Forces War Course of National Defence College and high officials of PRAN-RFL Group were also present at the event.
The South Sudanese delegation visited the Walton production area in Savar in the evening.
The Walton officials first made a power point presentation on the activities of Walton.
The South Sudanese delegation expressed thanks to Walton officials for organizing the visit of the delegation.
The visiting delegation were shown round the refrigerator production unit. They also visited the Walton display centre.
The visiting delegation proposed that Walton may open their sales branches in South Sudan and produce their goods there.
The South Sudanese delegation later visited the Beximco Industrial Park in Gazipur in the evening.
Deputy General Manager and Executive Director of Beximco received the delegation at Beximco Industrial Park in Gazipur.
The delegation was shown around the industrial sites including their spinning unit , washing plant and weaving area.
The South Sudanese delegation expressed their happiness over the knowledge they gathered about the Beximco textiles production.”
