Plus:Tombola (tickets £1) and Raffle (tickets £1) with prizes including designer jewellery from Galerie Mirages and donations from local people and business owners
Annual sponsorships are sought for several primary and secondary school children (£140 full / £70 shared) Please note, guests are under no pressure to buy tombola and raffle tickets or to sign-up to become a sponsor.
Where's your money going?
The organisers and team members are volunteers. All funds raised by the Ceilidh go towards educational programmes run by MADEF at Kakuma Refugee Camp, including:
- Annual sponsorship for primary and secondary pupils
- Solar lighting initiatives (over 1,500 students now benefiting)
- Library projects
- Women's projects
MADEF stands for Mat (Unity) African Development and Education Fund. Their mission is to empower and educate displaced children and young people and “giving only when there is too little to share”.
