September 1, 2014 (ADDIS ABABA) – South Sudan’s former vice-president turned rebel leader, Riek Machar, has appointed additional diplomats to represent the opposition faction of the Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement (SPLM In Opposition) in various countries around the globe.
In his recent appointments, Machar has appointed Aguer Rual as representative to Australia; Yien Tut Bok to represent the movement in Switzerland; Philip Gai Lony to Caribbean states or countries and Lual Mathok Ding Wol to represent the movement in Canada.
The officials shall serve as the focal points for the SPLM In Opposition abroad and will be explaining the positions of the movement to the respective host countries.
They shall also be responsible for organising SPLM chapters in which they will oversee elections of SPLM chapters coordinators in the respective countries and mobilize support for the movement.
Chapters coordinator will be in charge of SPLM [in opposition] chapters in such countries and shall report to the country representative.
