A South Sudan national fell to death from his fifth floor apartment in Hennur on Friday evening.The victim, Golyac Mathias Towng Dak, 30, a native of South Sudan, had come to India in 2010 for higher studies, said the Hennur police.The victim had completed BCA from Indian Academy College at Chellakere in Hennur. He was staying with two of his friends from his country at fifth floor of JR Arcade Apartment in Chellakere. He was scheduled to return to his country in December, added the police.
On Friday, Dak got his head shaved from one of his friends. All the three consumed liquor thereafter. Dak wanted his friends to take a picture of him and posed for the camera around 4 pm. He stood on the parapet wall and requested his friends to click the picture. While his friend was preparing to take the picture, Dak lost balance and fell down. He was killed instantly, said the police. Ex-councillor attackedLakshmi, 38, a former councillor and wife of history sheeter V Nagaraja was brutally attacked near her house at Srirampura on Thursday night. She was rushed to a private hospital where she is recovering now. According to the police, an old rivalry led to the incident.Nagaraj’s children had picked a quarrel with a few residents of the area over a petty issue on Thursday evening. Sometime later, the residents rushed to Nagaraj’s house at Swatantranagar in Srirampura and attacked Lakshmi with lethal weapons. A youth was also injured in the incident and he was rushed to Nimhans, added the police.
