MTN South Sudan  has launched MTN Shabab Nation, a youth-focused community and lifestyle ecosystem designed to connect, empower and inspire young people across South Sudan.

The initiative was launched on 13 August 2026, in celebration of International Youth Day, and brings together digital connectivity, education, entertainment, rewards and skills development. The platform is initially open to 15 to 25-year-olds, with MTN saying it aims to create a space where young people can access opportunities, develop their talents and connect with their peers.

MTN said Shabab Nation goes beyond traditional telecommunications by providing a platform for learning opportunities, entertainment, rewards, community engagement and personal development. More than 70% of South Sudan’s population is under the age of 25, making youth a significant part of the country’s population and future workforce.

Under the theme “Young. Bold. Unstoppable.”, members will have access to a range of benefits, including a FREE 100MB Welcome Bonus, additional weekly data through the Mixo Mixo promotion, extra 100MB Yello Sunday rewards, entertainment experiences, partner benefits and educational opportunities.

The platform is also intended to provide young people with access to learning resources covering areas such as personal growth, skills development and digital learning.

“At MTN, we believe that everyone deserves the benefits of a modern, connected life. Through Shabab Nation, we are making a long-term commitment to the young people of South Sudan. This is not simply about data bundles or telecommunications. It is about creating a platform that empowers young people to learn, create, connect, grow their talents, and pursue their ambitions. On International Youth Day, we proudly launched a movement that recognizes youth as the driving force behind South Sudan’s future. MTN Shabab Nation represents our long-term commitment to empowering young people with the connectivity, opportunities, knowledge, and support they need to thrive and achieve their ambitions.”

Phoebe Latu, Chief Executive Officer, MTN South Sudan

“Today’s youth are not waiting for the future, they are creating it. MTN Shabab Nation is our commitment to standing beside every young South Sudanese as they learn, create, innovate, entertain, connect, and pursue their dreams. We have listened to what young people want: more value, more opportunities, more experiences, and a stronger sense of belonging.”

Henry Njoroge, Chief Marketing Officer, MTN South Sudan

MTN said Shabab Nation will also evolve through strategic partnerships, enhanced rewards, entertainment collaborations and community-driven initiatives as the platform expands. The company said the initiative reflects its broader commitment to investing in youth through improved access to connectivity, knowledge and opportunities that can support South Sudan’s social and economic development.
