South Sudan remains a key trading partner, and we are committed to boosting our industrial exports and investment in the region
The Speaker of Parliament this morning hosted South Sudan’s Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Paul Molong Akaro, for a courtesy visit aimed at deepening the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to fostering stronger trade ties and regional cooperation. South Sudan continues to serve as a vital market for Uganda’s industrial products, making trade a cornerstone of the two countries’ bilateral relationship.
“Our discussion focused on mutual interests, especially enhancing economic cooperation between Uganda and South Sudan,” the Tayebwa noted.
“South Sudan remains a key trading partner, and we are committed to boosting our industrial exports and investment in the region.”
Uganda and South Sudan share a longstanding historical bond, rooted in decades of regional solidarity and mutual support. Uganda played a critical role during South Sudan’s struggle for independence and has since continued to support peace-building and state institution development in the young nation.
The meeting also underscored the importance of sustained collaboration in ensuring peace, stability, and prosperity in the region, with both parties expressing optimism for even greater cooperation in the future.
