A delegation from South Sudan led by the Undersecretary for the Ministry of Peacebuilding, Mr Pia Philip Michael, has commended the National Peace Council (NPC) of Ghana for its exceptional efforts in maintaining peace and stability in the country.

The delegation also commended the NPC for its innovative methods in addressing conflict, emphasising the importance of learning from Ghana’s experience as South Sudan continues its peace-building journey.

The Executive Secretary of the National Peace Council, Dr George Amoh, shared valuable insights into Ghana’s peace-building journey, highlighting the Council's successful initiatives and strategies that played a key role in the country’s stability.

Mr Philip Michael, on his part, expressed admiration for the NPC’s work in promoting a culture of peace and resilience.

He praised the Council's proactive approach to conflict resolution and its efforts to foster national cohesion, noting that such strategies are highly relevant to South Sudan’s peace-building efforts.

This visit shows the significance of international collaboration in peace-building. South Sudan and Ghana recognise the value of sharing experiences to tackle common challenges and promote sustainable peace.

The exchange highlights the global importance of effective peace-building strategies and marks an important step toward deeper cooperation in fostering peace across borders.
