Khartoum, January 18 (SUNA) - The Acting Minister of Trade and Supply Amal Salih Saad met, at her office Wednesday, with the Acting Wali of West Kordofan State Khalid Mohamed Ahmed Jelaih and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed the possibility of finding effective solutions for the flow of trade between the West Kordofan State and the State of South Sudan, referring to the prevalence of unregulated trade across the borders.
The minister explained that the influx of trade between the two countries, whether free or border trade, was closely linked to the opening of the crossings between the two countries, calling on the sovereign authorities to expedite the determination of the crossings to ease the movement of trade between the two countries.
The two parties also agreed to open offices for the Ministry of Commerce and Supply in the capital city of the state with a wide mandate and powers to enable the state to conduct all transactions related to free trade directly from its capital.
The minister affirmed that she would help the state with everything that enables it to consolidate the principles of commercial activity and its requirements such as training and organization of educational workshops on commercial activity.
