NILEPET signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SUDAPET in Juba(newsinvasion24.com)
South Sudan: The Nile Petroleum Corporation (NILEPET), The National Oil and Gas Corporation of South Sudan, has signed an MoU in different areas of Petroleum business which include;
a) The construction of the Data Processing Center in Juba through a Joint Venture that will be governed according to the Laws of the Republic of South Sudan.
b) Training of Geologists, Geoscientists and Technical staff as well as expertise of NILEPET using the facilities of SUDAPET in Khartoum in the meantime.
b) Exploration and Production, e.t.c
The two bosses of the National Oil Companies (NOCs) struck a deal after days of negotiations in areas of mutual benefits. The NILEPET boss Hon. Dr Chol Deng T. Abel terms the signing of the MoU between his corporation and SUDAPET as “a great step forward.”
“I thank the tireless effort of my team, the Deputy Managing Director, DGs, Directors and the legal department for this achievement. The MoU strictly aims at training our young engineers in different fields of Oil and Gas operations, and it will alleviate our capacity leading to the attainment of the Vision 2027.”, Dr Chol emphasized with much relief.
The Director General of SUDAPET, Eng. Ahmed Alzieda said his company is more than committed to the terms agreed upon in the MoU and that they are set to start implementation of the signed MoU as soon as their plane lands at Khartoum International Airport this evening. “We are more than ready to implement this agreement as soon as we reach Khartoum by the grace of God.” Eng. Ahmed stressed.
The delegations from Khartoum left with smiling faces and thanked the Hospitality of South Sudanese and of the NILEPET Managing Director and his team, citing that they are willing to receive the NILEPET team in Khartoum to show them the innovation in the Oil and Gas industry of the Republic of Sudan.
It was a great day for both National Oil Companies (NOCs), and the expectations are higher than ever.
