The burly midfielder, who replaced Mohamed Camara in the 84th minute, rounded off the win five minutes into stoppage time with a fine first-timer from the edge of the area after a cut-back from the right.

An own goal from Boubakar Kouyate gave South Sudan a 29th-minute lead but Camara brought Mali level 13 minutes into the second half.

Mali striker Ibrahima Kone was red-carded on 78 minutes but the team still grabbed a precious with two quick-fire goals in stoppage time.

Sekou Koita found the net three minutes into the additional time before Dieng ensured the victory.

Dieng, who has been a key member of Ahly's squad since joining the Cairo giants in the summer of 2019, has made 12 appearances for Mali. His first international goal came in a 2-1 friendly victory over Tunisia in 2016.
