Khartoum, April 5 (SUNA) – The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, Monday received at the Republican Palace a delegation of South Sudan mediation, headed by Tut Gulwak, the Advisor of the President of the Republic of South Sudan.
In a press statement, Gulwak said that the meeting has discussed the issues of peace and stability, the files relating to Juba peace agreement for Sudan and its implementation.
He indicated that there are committees currently working on issues related to the regional governance and the appointment of governors, following up the implementation of the security arrangements, adding that a joint meeting will be held between the mediation and the parties that signed the Juba agreement for Sudan peace.
Gulwak explained that the meeting also discussed East Sudan file which necessitates that all the people of East Sudan shall sit for dialogue to achieve an agreement which satisfactory for all the components of the East and to ensure security and stability in the region.
He pointed out that the meeting has reviewed issues relating to the North and Central Tracks and challenges facing them, especially regarding the division of power.
He said that the declaration of principles signed lately in Juba between Gen. Al-Burhan and the leader of the People’s Movement – North was satisfactory for all parties.
He announced that May 25th will witness the first sitting of negotiation between the delegations of the government and the People’s Movement – North.
The head of South Sudan mediation affirmed his committee’s readiness to complete the peace process in Sudan, adding that the leader of Sudan Liberation Movement, Abdul-Wahid Mohamed Nur, is currently engaged in consultations with South Sudan President, Salva Kiir, on his vision for the negotiation with Sudan government.
