Khartoum, February 28 (SUNA) - The meetings of the Second Session of the Political Consultation Committee between the Sudan and Poland were held in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Polish Capital, Warsaw; where the State Minister for Foreign Affairs Omer Gamar-Eddin Ismail chaired the Sudanese side and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Maching Lang Li headed the Polish side. On Thursday, the two sides discussed the internal situation in the two countries, where the Sudanese side extended an elaborate explanation of the situation in Sudan including the victory of the Glorious December Revolution in April, which led to the formation of the transitional power structures. The Sudanese side also touched on the challenges facing the transitional government, foremost of which is lifting the name of Sudan from the American list of countries sponsoring terrorism, peace achievement and addressing the economic conditions as well as the support that Poland can provide in this regard. The Polish side reviewed the internal conditions in Poland, ways to develop bilateral relations and the development of existing cooperation in the field of education and archaeology to include other areas such as training and capacity building, in addition to the the fields of health and agriculture. Meanwhile, the two sides exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern including the situation in Libya and Yemen, peace in South Sudan, the issues of the Renaissance Dam and the developments in the Sahel region.
