Egypt is keen on continuing its support of South Sudan and its peace process, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi told South Sudanese presidential envoy Tut Galwak during a meeting in Cairo.

According to an official statement, presidency spokesman Bassam Rady said that El-Sisi stressed Cairo's endeavors on both the regional and international levels to boost efforts seeking a return of stability and security and improved economic conditions.

Rady said that Galwak delivered to the Egyptian president a message from South Sudan's President Salva Kiir, which tackled bilateral relations and developments in various regional issues.

Galwak presented to El-Sisi the latest political developments in his country, praising his Egypt's role and efforts to aid the security in the region and South Sudan.

"This comes under Egypt's leading role on a regional level, as well as Egypt's chairmanship of the African Union and… historic ties between the two countries," the South Sudanese presidential representative said, according to the statement.
