DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES—Sudan’s embattled president on Wednesday met the ruler of the tiny, energy-rich nation of Qatar, likely looking for financial support amid weeks-long protests challenging his 29-year rule in the African nation.
Both Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and Qatar’s ruling emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, smiled as they shook hands and embraced at the Emiri Diwan in Doha.
