Shoukry and First Vice President of South Sudan Taban Deng, in a tete-a-tete session of talks held on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference 2018, took over bilateral cooperation as well as domestic conditions in South Sudan.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said Deng stressed his country’s keenness on moving ahead with the national dialogue path, saying it seeks Egypt’s technical and political support.
For his side, Shoukry conveyed greetings of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit, voicing Sisi’s appreciation for the current cooperation relations between both countries and keenness to support South Sudan in all educational, agricultural and healthcare sectors, Abu Zeid added.
The meeting also touched on political and security conditions in eastern Africa and the Horn of Africa, Abu Zeid noted.
