Representatives of Uganda and South Sudan in the East African Legislative Assembly have boycotted proceedings over a stalemate over jobs in the regional parliament. The impasse stems from claims that the ongoing recruitment exercise of the staff at the East African Community Headquarters is fraudulent. The recruitment saga has sucked in South Sudanese representatives who have voted out their charter chairperson Thomas Dut Gatpan accusing him of being against a motion moved by Uganda’s legislators to block the allegedly fraudulent recruitment exercise.
