Although the first article SOMEBODY TO HELP UPPER NILE FROM BEING LOOTED BY THE GOVERNOR published few weeks ago did produced positive results, it was too little and too late. The governor abrogated the sale of government vehicles to his relatives even though some of the vehicles cannot be recovered because they have been taken either to Ethiopia or Juba. He paid one month teacher's salaries, but, those with Muslim names were not paid for three months.
The rumors circulating in Malakal is that he received 2% of oil revenue (about 8 Million US dollars) some of which he has taken back for bribery to retail his position as governor. While addressing the state assembly recently he was pointing one figure at the minority leader who is from SPLM-DC to blame for nothing while his four figures to himself for his bad deeds.
The governor has undermined his party SPLM and made the party totally unpopular to win the next elections in 2015 unless bulldozed like the first elections. Simon Kun was nominated by Pagam Amum, former SPLM Secretary-General. There is an Arabic saying "whoever dug a hole for his brother, he himself will fall in". Pagan dug a hole for Upper Nile State. Instead, he has fallen into it. Upper Nile State is doom because of Simon Kun and the entire Nuer who are supporting him.
SPLM party should sit down to save upper Nile from Simon Kun looting. When in Juba, whatever he says are but lies. How can JICA transform Malakal town into a modern city. He has looted 150 Million pounds which were intended to improve the town roads by Chinese and Kano Companies.
The governor is in the lead in land grabbing. He allotted the grave yard to what is called Latjor Business Complex without respecting the dead. He has taken much land belonging to the army for himself. He took part of the land belonging to Ministry of Animal Resources to build his hotel by the river side. He took a building belonging to Islamic World wide (NGO) to become his guest house. The Muslims in Malakal declared Jihad (fatwa) against Simon Kun Pouch. Jihad declaration stands beyond his removal from office or even if he moves to his home land in Ethiopia. He has done much harm to the Muslims in Malakal which is putting our relation with Sudan in jeopardy.
Teachers' salaries have not been paid fully. Those teachers who might have got their salaries have returned to work otherwise teaching is not yet in full swing.
Upper Nile people need help. If that help does not come from the president Salva Kiir then the Almighty God through his effected diabetes will remove him from power sooner. He is a sick man and people are always praying when diabetes remove him from our face.
This writing is the voice of the suffering people of Upper Nile. Innocent children are dying because Simon Kun has embezzled the money that could have been used for buying drugs.
The voice of the suffering people will be continually heard until the removal of Simon Kun as governor of Upper Nile state. ALUTA CONTINUEWA!!!!!
