The SPLM-DC leader and where about of him

It is not a problem if Dr. Lam is in Khartoum or Egypt; these are independent Countries where he has a right to seek political asylum. It is not the first time for a leader of political party who is threatened in his country to seek political asylum in another Country while his political party operates inside his Country, for a simple example, Sadig Almahdi of UMMA Party and Ahmed Almarghani of DUP Party of the then Sudan who formed the NDA in exile and forged alliance with SPLM during the war. The argument against Dr. Lam being not in the country is therefore not a strong argument.

Treason charge against SPLM-DC leader, Dr. Lam Akol.

This treason charge against Dr. Lam is not new. It was framed against him by the then SPLM Secretary General, and it was settled by the constitutional court of the then Sudan which dismissed the case as unfounded. But, then, now and again, the RSS President and Chairman of SPLM is always orally announcing same charges against Dr. Lam in public gatherings like churches without making it legally formal; even when Dr. Lam came to Juba in September 2010 the President needed to have done just that. A behavior like this suggests a sinister intention from the President. So those who want Dr. Lam to go to Juba to be jailed and/or (not impossible!)........!, like Uganda opposition leader, or in our case, George Athor, Tanginya, Peter Sule, etc; are the ones in dire need of Dr. Lam presence in Juba on!.

A good leader.

I don't understand what people mean by a good leader if Dr. Lam who was elected by his Party convention without duress or coercion like SPLM Chairman Salva Kiir, is not to them, a good leader.

The manifesto, why SPLM-DC.

The SPLM-DC agenda is democracy to replace the SPLM dictatorship, a federal and parliamentary system of Government. People need to talk about manifestos of political parties and not who or where a political party leader is.

There are people who think they own the SPLM and therefore any other party which has acronym of SPLM must not have legitimacy in South Sudan. But the SPLM-DC was founded by SPLM members who saw to it that the SPLM had skipped its historical manifesto which was for democratic transformation. Dr. Lam was/is one of the leading historical founders of SPLM; and if there are people who want to steal the SPLM legacy from others, that is political hooliganism. We are part of the historical members and founders of SPLM; we want to rescue the SPLM foundation, hence, the name SPLM-DC.

The mystery of rebellion in South Sudan and the charge against SPLM-DC.

I expect South Sudanese to know the history of the rebels since the CPA was concluded in 2005. The Government of South Sudan since that time failed to resolve the issue of the then rebels and the subsequent rebels; instead, began to make scapegoat of Dr.Lam and SPLM-DC from 2010 to date. The questions which need to be asked are: Which rebels are/were SPLM-DC or Dr.Lam in connection with? The Government of South Sudan had been making agreements and dishonoring agreements with the rebels, was the SPLM-DC and Dr. Lam involved in these agreements; and if not, than why such accusation? Why would a rebel leader and a rebel movement deny itself of his/its leadership? Does such a rebellion really exist?.......ask yourselves!!!!

Last remarks.

There are South Sudanese who are psychotic about Dr. Lam being the leader of SPLM-DC; let them know that a political party is a peoples organization and Dr. Lam was elected by people to lead the Party. People who feel inferior of themselves about the capabilities of others are the ones who are envious and prejudice about him. But those who have self confidence can join this party to compete for any position including its leadership. All are welcome to SPLM-DC.
