What went wrong again, to have our country yearning for liberation one more time? Remember the promises that filled the sky but never ascended on the people of South Sudan, the promises of stability, liberty and prosperity that are vital to the people who lived as a second-class citizen on their own land for years.

South Sudan isn’t a foreign land to be abandoned neither is it strange to be lived in, the promises made by the leaders need to be revisited and implemented. What a great political contribution would it be to have a politician overcome his/her lust for power and have his/her own people live in harmony/stability.

No matter how much the politics have gone wrong, political comeback is possible through putting the interests of the suffering citizens at heart and saving them from hunger, thirst, fear and all the uncertainties of life. The beauty in the African politics is that, the Africans are always forgiving and obedient to their leaders.

The politicians must represent the masses of the people under their leadership, but political representation does not last to make countless promises. Implementation is essential and that is the only step which means “representation of the people”. It is never impossible to have South Sudanese love and adore their own country, but there must be a reason for admiration and adoration of someone’s own motherland.

Adoration and admiration of a country is built from the developmental works of the politicians who fulfil their promises through impacting the lives of their own people positively by implementing the constructive policies that bring about political stability, transparency in the use of the public funds and creation of job opportunities that make the citizens able to generate incomes in order to meet the necessities of life.

The promises lift the spirits of the masses, and implementation brings about trust that the leaders are real and selfless. The most important fight today that must be made a promise and implemented should be the fight against corruption, incorporation of transparency/accountability and peaceful co-existence among the people of South Sudan.
