By Deng Rialdit Akok
Last week, group of desperate, disgruntled and hunger traumatized youths who proclaimed themselves to be representatives of ten states and three administrative areas rushed to the social media with a fake open letter to the president of the Republic of South Sudan, calling for the urgent dismissal of the executive director in the office of President Mr. James Deng Wal. In their open letter to the president, The unknown thirteen proclaimed representatives of ten states and three administrative areas under the name of non existing Concerned Youth, invented baseless allegations against a visionary, hard-working, humble and educated young executive director Mr. James Deng Wal. The self imposed representatives of ten states plus three administrative areas falsely accused the executive director of financial corruption, nepotism/ favouritism, academic incompetence, incapability to run the office and other unbelievable nonsense.
Before I respond to the above allegations fabricated against a respected and kind-hearted, visionary man Mr. James Deng Wal Achien, I would like to bring into the attention of social media users that there is no association or union called " Concerned Youth of Ten States and Three Administrative Areas". The only legitimate body that represents the youth at the state level is the State Youth Union. The Concerned Youth of Ten States and Three Administrative Areas was created by the desperate lobbyists who are lobbying for the position of executive director in the office of president. The thirteen names of the individuals who claimed to be representatives of Concerned youth are all fake and all those thirteen names seemed to be the names of people who perished 3000 years ago. The thirteen names were just coined by two or three individuals at the tea places of Juba City and then put into the white paper. To prove this, the thirteen signatures of the so called representatives look alike and similar. This means it was one individual who signed on behalf of those coined names.
Coming back to the unfounded allegations levelled against James Deng Wal by the imaginary representatives of non existing Concerned Youth. The unknown self proclaimed representatives accused Mr. James Deng Wal of approving millions of dollars to his relatives, friends and political godfathers under the pretext of medical assistance. Dear readers, the executive director in the office of President has no powers to approve even a single South Sudanese pound to any staff in the presidency leave alone his relatives, friends or political godfathers. Those who penned the infamous open letter lack knowledge on the structural hierarchy in the office of President and that's why they wrote something which they aren't aware of. Approving money for medication or whatever doesn't lie in the powers of the executive director. The self proclaimed representatives falsely accused James Deng Wal of distributing luxurious cars to his relatives, friends and those who have access to the first lady. The baseless allegations of distributing cars to his relatives and those around the first lady, is a total lie and it holds no water in the mind of well informed intellectuals. Where does Deng Wal acquire funds to procure such luxurious cars for his relatives, friends etc. Mr. Deng can't afford to buy a motorbike for his friends to leave alone a car. The self imposed representatives of Concerned Youth claimed that James Deng Wal has opened the gate of the office of president for only his good boys, relatives and those around the first lady while blocking the other citizens from visiting the office. This concocted allegation of preventing his critics from entering into the presidency is a white lie. The office of president is always opened for any citizen who wants to visit it. Deng Wal isn't aware of any citizen being blocked from entering into the office. The allegation was fabricated for the purpose of tarnishing the good image of James Deng Wal
The unknown representatives of non existing Concerned Youth of Ten States and three administrative areas claimed that James Deng Wal lacks academic credentials to hold the position of executive director in the highest office. They further contradicted themselves by claiming that Mr. Deng Wal holds a forged bachelor degree. James Deng Wal is more qualified than the desperate lobbyists behind the fake and infamous open letter. He holds a master degree in business administration from Ndejje University in Uganda. He is a graduate of 2012. He has more than 20 years experience in the field of administration. How can James Deng Wal be compared with inexperienced master/ PhD holders who graduated recently?. They also accused James Deng Wal of employing or recruiting illiterate and unqualified people into the office of president on the basis of blood relationship, friendship or recommendation from the political elites. All the staff who are working in the presidency are from different institutions and were assigned or deployed to the presidency by their respective institutions. The executive director in the office of President has no powers to recruit or dismiss anyone from the office. Mr. Deng Wal has never employed anyone either his relative or friend since his appointment as an executive director in the presidency.
In conclusion, all the allegations invented against Mr. James Deng Wal in the incendiary and fake open letter entitled " A joint open letter from concerned youth of ten states and three administrative areas to President Salva Kiir Mayardit", are baseless and rubbish. The allegations were manufactured by the enemies of progress with a clear intention of tarnishing the good image of a kind hearted, visionary and hard-working man James Deng Wal. The authors of the open letter are desperate lobbyists who are trying by all means to find a way into the presidency. The authors of the open letter thought that writing defamatory articles against James Deng Wal would pave their way into presidency. Therefore, I am urging the South Sudanese in the social media to disregard whatever was written against James Deng Wal and throw it into the dustbin. I am also advising all South Sudanese to make good use of social media. The South Sudanese should use the media for advocating for peace, unity and not for disseminating lies and propaganda.
