Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Lam Akol discussed Wednesday with US envoy to Sudan Andrew Natsios bilateral relations, Darfur issue and progress of implementation of Naivasha agreement.

Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Ali Al-Sadik said in a press statement the two sides tackled the issue of the bilateral relations in their various aspects and reactivation of dialogue between the government and the armed movements in Darfur that did not sign Abuja agreement besides progress of implementation of the three support packages by UN to the African troops as well as the humanitarian situation in Darfur. The US envoy, on his part, explained that his meeting with Dr. Akol discussed issues related to Darfur problem and implementation of what had been agreed upon in Addis Ababa and Abuja on the UN support packages to the African troops. He pointed out that the talks also tackled progress of implementation of Naivasha agreement, Abyei issue, work of the border commission and the population census.
