SPLM-DC Canada would like to assure the mass citizen of our country at home and around the globe in regard to the events of defection of our former Secretary General Eng. Charles B. Kisanga and his co. defectors.
That your giant party, the SPLM-DC, is not moved by their absence from the party, but on the contrary, the party is moving forward and much stronger than ever before.
Claims brought forward by Charles B. Kisanga and co-defectors are nothing but naked lies which do not hold water. We members of SPLM-DC, in Canada, Equatorians, and none Equatorians have refuted their allegations or statements of tribalism and marginalization of Equatorian members within the party as false and careless individualistic acts.
We, members of the SPLM-DC in Canada, would like to tell those who are working day and night to divide the people of Southern Sudan on tribal and regional basis, that you are nothing but the enemies of unity of the people of Southern Sudan. SPLM-DC is the peoples' party that strife to grant every single citizens of the Sudan and southern Sudan in particular to achieve their basic tenet of democracy as enshrined in our Interim constitutions regardless of gender, regional, religion and/or political affiliations, etc.
We, the committed members of SPLM-DC party in Canada, respect the rights of those who differ with us in objectives and the way we strive to make democratic transformation of our country a reality. And therefore, as we strive to achieve fruitful south-south-dialogue, we urge anyone to exercise the principle of lets disagree to agree for the sake of the unity of our people.
And for those who are trying to tarnish our stand or position on the referendum, they need to be reminded it was Dr. Lam Akol and his colleagues like Dr. Riek Machar, and Karbino Kuanyin Bol who were the main architect of the right of self-determination for the people of Southern Sudan as an option to bring an end to the bloodshed in Southern Sudan, the idea which was vehemently opposed by the same elements within the SPLM/A that now claim to be a separatists. Understandably the principal objective of the SPLM-DC party is the achievement of the right to and exercise of self-determination by and for the people of the Southern Sudan in fulfillment of their aspirations. In other word, the SPLM-DC party unequivocally support and advocate for peacefully and timely conduct of referendum.
Long Live The Spirit of Struggle.
