The Chairman of SPLM-DC, its leadership and the entire membership of the party pay their heartfelt condolence to the family of the late Dr. Samson L. Kwaje, Minister of Agriculture in the Government of Southern Sudan who passed away this morning, the 1st of August 2010.
Dr. Samson L. Kwaje holds a PhD degree in Agriculture. He has been an active politician and served previously as Minister of Finance in the Government of Equatoria Region in the 1980s.
He Later on left the country to join ICIPE, an International Agricultural Research Council, in Nairobi where he was a director.
He joined the SPLM/SPLA in early 1990s where he served diligently and conscientiously in several capacities, becoming the Official Spokesman of the Movement in late 1990s. He played a prominent role as part of the SPLM/SPLA delegation that negotiated the Comprehensive Peace Agreement signed on the 9th of January 2005.
Dr. Samson L. Kwaje will be remembered for his contributions to the struggle and being a conciliatory person, keen on the unity of the Movement and of the people of Southern Sudan.
May the Almighty rest his soul in eternal peace.

Message of Condolence
It is with deep sorrow that I have learnt of the sudden death of Dr. Samson Kwage, Minister for Agriculture GOSS.
I, Ms. Sandra Bona Malwal, Secretary General of SPLM-DC, hereby send my heartfelt condolence to the people of Southern Sudan and in particular, the people of the Greater Equatoria Region whom he served with dedication, the entire family, relatives and friends.
The gap he has left will surely be difficult to fill. Be assured that I am with you in this painful and trying time of mourning.
God gives and God takes, May he rest the late Minister's soul in eternal peace. Amen
