The Government of Southern Sudan acknowledges the consistent bi-partisan support of the United States Government that resulted in the historical Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) signed on January 9th, 2005, and ending the two decades of civil war that caused lost of more than 2 million and displaced over 4 million. Furthermore, GoSS appreciates the continuous support of the United States Government to ensure the full implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
On Monday March 22nd, 2010, Mr. Moses Lomayat, Moderator of the SPLM-Diaspora Forum posted a statement regarding the Healthcare Reform Bill, which does not reflect the views of GoSS. The Forum is neither an institute of GoSS nor the SPLM as a party; it is a public forum that reflects individual views and opinions.
The Government of Southern Sudan would like to reassure the friends of Southern Sudan in the Republican and the Democratic Parties of our appreciation for their continuous support to implement the outstanding protocols of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, such as border demarcation, upcoming general elections, the referenda on Southern Sudan and Abyei, and Popular Consultation. Hence, we look forward to a continued engagement of bi-partisan support to ensuring that peace; democracy and security are sustained in Southern Sudan.
